DiabeticPhenom was created and inspired by Jordan Hicks, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 17. While the diagnosis was difficult, he did not let it stand in the way of him pursuing his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player.
Our hope is that DiabeticPhenom represents the belief that medical challenges in life should not deter the ability to grow and prosper.
While “DiabeticPhenom” started as a nickname, it quickly became an Identity that helped build his confidence in himself knowing that he could excel at his passion regardless of what the next person might say.
Now the name DiabeticPhenom serves as a call to inspire, support, and spread awareness to those who stand face to face everyday and fight Diabetes
